I purchased the hard cover, the illustrated version, the kindle version, and the audio version fit i've also read nearly everything of his and i can't get into the linguistics books.

Bill bryson and his family live in a victorian parsonage in a part of england where nothing of any great significance has happened since the romans decamped. He has read (or tried to read) their books, pestered them with questions, apprenticed himself to their powerful minds. But beyond that most of my favorite books are bryson books.
